The latest single from Trunky Juno, a Durham-based indie artist, is the hugely memorable ‘Boys Like Me’. It’s a bouncy, playful cut with an incredibly syllabically dense top line that wanders effortlessly from pop-punk adjacent verses and falsetto choruses, into a chanted singalong hook. “This is the fastest and most energetic song I’ve ever written, and one day I will inevitably pass out playing it live,” he says. “I was taking influence from a lot of my favourite artists on this EP such as Neutral Milk Hotel, The Flaming Lips and Weezer - which I think comes through specifically on this track.” Alongside the release of this single, Trunky Juno has announced his upcoming four-track EP, Death Metal Music, which is due for release on March 3rd, 2022.
